v6.8 - R2501, Release date: 06-02-2025, Notes:

• M-mode flow visualization introduced for 1D blood flow imaging

  • 1D blood flow recordings can now be viewed as a single line data display.

  • The device is now certified to be used in medical settings.

• Regular B-mode update for 1-D blood flow imaging

  • During 1-D Power Doppler capture, the ultrasound modality image is refreshed periodically to enable precise device positioning and ensure optimal imaging accuracy.

• Hidden ultrasound centerline during 1-D Power Doppler mode

  • The ultrasound centerline is automatically hidden during 1-D Power Doppler mode, regardless of user preference settings, to provide an unobstructed view of blood flow imaging.

• Enhanced firmware update wizard

  • This update includes smoother background operations and a more streamlined workflow for users.

• Ultrasound-based blood flow visualization (Power Doppler)

  • This feature enables users to visualize blood flow in subcutaneous blood vessels, providing real-time information on vascular activity.

• Enlarged frame selector slider which displays the exact frame number

  • The frame selector slider has been enlarged for easier navigation. The frame number display assists users with selecting specific frames.

• New product branding with new product icons

  • The app interface has been updated with redesigned product icons for a more modern and consistent visual experience.

v6.5 - R2407, Release date: 01-08-2024, Notes:

• Ultrasound center line marking on both modalities for tracking

  • While scanning, the center of the ultrasound image is marked with a dashed line in the middle. On the optical image, the center is also marked in the middle of the red guideline.

• Number of maximum recordable frames extended

  • The maximum length of recorded cineloops can now be set to 300. Users can still choose to keep the maximum record length to 100 frames.

v6.4 - R2405, Release date: 21-06-2024, Notes:

• Redesigned upload wizard

  • The upload screens were redesigned to give users more control. The saving options remain on the screen while the user navigates through the catalog hierarchy.

• Users can now download or upload the current frame on display even when it’s not selected

  • This allows for faster work when browsing records.

v6.2 - R2401, Release date: 15-02-2024, Notes:

• Redesigned download screen with new features

The download interface has been simplified for a more streamlined user experience. Users can now download multi-frame record loops as MP4 videos that can be viewed outside the web app. Additionally, users can now attach patient metadata – such as patient name and/or insurance number – to downloaded images and PDF reports. Dermus continues its practice not to store any personally identifiable information in the SkinAid Catalog database to ensure patient anonymity. Note that PDF reports may be emailed too instead of a direct download.

• Value annotation

Users now have the option to annotate both optical and ultrasound images by reading out the RGB or intensity values around the selected location.

• Product switch option on Login page

Users now have the option to switch to SkinAid Catalog directly on the login page for easier accessibility.

v6.1 - R2311, Release date: 18-12-2023, Notes:

• HighResolution vs HighDepth Options during scanning

Users have the ability now to choose between high-resolution and high-depth data recording. The latter allows better visualization of deeper skin structures in sacrifice of the higher resolution of the epidermis and dermis.

• Option to highlight a selected modality (optical or ultrasound) by enlarging its window over the other modality

SkinScanner data recording is simultaneously generating both optical and ultrasound images. This feature enables users now to focus only on one of the modalities during data recording, whilst moving the other image screen to the background.

• FW update for each users is possible

Firmware update has been made simple by a single-click interaction.

• Feedback button: Report an Issue - Send Feedback

Users are encouraged to provide instant feedback in case of any unlikely malfunctions experienced or bugs noted; or in contrary, to give a compliment or express a new functionality need. This feature sends some basic information (e.g. firmware number, device UID) about one’s device to Dermus as well as it provides space for textual description of the feedback and the ability to attach a screenshot automatically prepared for the user by the system.

• Separate domain for SkinScanner Capture (dermus.app) and SkinAid Catalog (skinaid.app) products

Considering product evolution (two separable data services) and regulatory matters (medical vs. non-medical) SkinScanner Capture and SkinAid Catalog have been moved to two distinct domains.

• Updated Login screen and Hint to install app icon on home screen

A revised login screen has been introduced for simplicity. Installing and starting from an app icon on the MCU home screen may result in a better user experience while using SkinScanner Capture.

• New navigation sidebar

The new navigation sidebar allows a single-click switch between SkinScanner Capture and SkinAid Catalog (see the icons on the bottom of the screen).

v5.9.0 - R2309, Release date: 09-10-2023, Notes:

• Shutter time as optical gain (instead of SW gain)

From now on it is possible to adjust different shutter times during live recording (as optical gain) and edit the brightness of the captured images in the SkinAid Capture screen. This improvement may be complemented with the already existing software-based image brightness adjustment available post-recording.
