v6.8 - R2501, Release date: 06-02-2025, Notes:

• M-mode flow visualization introduced for 1D blood flow imaging

  • 1D blood flow recordings can now be viewed as a single line data display.

• Enhanced Catalog item interaction

  • In large item view, the entirety of a tile is clickable for improved usability.

• Regular B-mode update for 1-D blood flow imaging

  • 1-D Power Doppler recordings will show any possible movement made during image capture.

• Hidden ultrasound centerline during 1-D Power Doppler mode

  • The ultrasound centerline is automatically hidden during 1-D Power Doppler mode, regardless of user preference settings, to provide an unobstructed view of blood flow imaging.

• Enlarged frame selector slider which displays the exact frame number

  • The frame selector slider has been enlarged for easier navigation. The frame number display assists users with selecting specific frames.

• New product branding with new product icons

  • The app interface has been updated with redesigned product icons for a more modern and consistent visual experience.

• Option to delete extra modality images from records

  • This feature allows users to permanently delete modality images and then upload or capture new ones.

• Support for maximum 300 frames in a Record

  • Frame loops longer than 100 frames can now be viewed in Skinaid.

v6.4 - R2405, Release date: 21-06-2024, Notes:

• SkinAid database now supports animal model patients (generic animal-type instead of specific species)

  • A generic mammal-type was designed to accomodate users working in the research or veterinary field. The model functions the same as the human schematic image, allowing users to mark out a lesion on the animal’s body.

• Records can be moved between patients in a batch operation

  • When selecting one or multiple records, the dialog allows them to be moved to another lesion or patient in the catalog.

• Users can now navigate to the home screen via the pathway at the top of the screen

  • The breadcrumb navigation was extended with the home option.

• Users can now download or upload the current frame on display even when it’s not selected

  • This allows for faster work when browsing records.

v6.3 - R2403, Release date: 10-04-2024, Notes:

• New feature: volume estimation for lesions (in Records)

A second mode has been added to the two-point distance measurement feature. This mode allows users to utilize measurement data for estimating the volume of a lesion. This functionality serves various purposes, such as monitoring growth or planning excisions. However, it's essential to note that this feature provides informational estimates only.

v6.2 - R2401, Release date: 15-02-2024, Notes:

• Redesigned download screen with new features

The download interface has been simplified for a more streamlined user experience. Users can now download multi-frame record loops as MP4 videos that can be viewed outside the web app. Additionally, users can now attach patient metadata – such as patient name and/or insurance number – to downloaded images and PDF reports. Dermus continues its practice not to store any personally identifiable information in the SkinAid Catalog database to ensure patient anonymity. Note that PDF reports may be emailed too instead of a direct download.

• Filter records in the SkinAid database by ICD code or disease name

Users now have the ability to search the SkinAid Catalog database by ICD code or simply typing in the name of a disease for enhanced accessibility.

• Product switch option on Login page

Users now have the option to switch to SkinScanner Capture directly on the login page for easier accessibility.

• Catalog entry ticket size is switchable with a default setting in Preferences

Users have the option now to change the default setting of the visual appearance for the SkinAid Catalog entries in a way they prefer to see.

• Feedback button: Report an Issue - Send Feedback

Users are encouraged to provide instant feedback in case of any unlikely malfunctions experienced or bugs noted; or in contrary, to give a compliment or express a new functionality need. This feature sends some basic information (e.g. firmware number, device UID) about one’s device to Dermus as well as it provides space for textual description of the feedback and the ability to attach a screenshot automatically prepared for the user by the system.

• Separate domain for SkinScanner Capture (dermus.app) and SkinAid Catalog (skinaid.app) products

Considering product evolution (two separable data services) and regulatory matters (medical vs. non-medical) SkinScanner Capture and SkinAid Catalog have been moved to two distinct domains.

• Updated Login screen

A revised login screen has been introduced for simplicity.

• New navigation sidebar

The new navigation sidebar allows a single-click switch between SkinScanner Capture and SkinAid Catalog (see the icons on the bottom of the screen).

• Hint to install app icon on home screen

Installing and starting from an app icon on the MCU home screen may result in a better user experience while using SkinAid Catalog.

• Batch operations added to select, delete and 'star mark ' catalog entries

Batch operations is an easy way to interact with multiple data records at a time. Available features include selection, deletion and favourite highlights. For the latter filtering is also enabled.

• New option to start capture from the Patient level of the catalog hierarchies

From now on it is possible to initiate and add a new record to the actual hierarchy level in the SkinAid Catalog.

• Option to edit lesion location

Editing the location of an earlier recorded lesion has become available by simply marking the new spot on the image of the body.

• Automatic lesion thickness/length visualization on ultrasound images

Compared to the earlier automated measurement of a lesion (thickness, diameter, area) one may see the maximum thickness, maximum length and the extent of a lesion now complemented with the reference point highlights used for such calculations.

• Local ID's for lesions and records, while patient ID's are 'global' across SkinAid

This release changes the numbering of lesions and records in the SkinAid Catalog. Whilst patient IDs remain “global”, i.e. your first patient's ID may start from the next number available in the SkinAid Catalog database, the first lesion of a given patient and the first record of a given lesion always starts counting from 1.

• Start new capture dialog (current level or from scratch)

Recording may be initiated from any level of the SkinAid Catalog now, supporting a smooth addition of new data to an existing patient.

• Extend demo for Catalog: demo.skinaid.app (later skinaid.app/demo & dermus.app/demo)

The existing demo environment built to showcase the SkinAid Capture has now been extended to introduce the main functionalities of the SkinAid Catalog as well.

• New UI for Catalog

The re-designed SkinAid Catalog makes data available in a 3-level structure (patient ›› lesion ›› record) with both textual and check-box based filtering.

• Explicit edit status for filters

Interactions on the Record screen, e.g. image annotation, two-point distance measurement may be applied simultaneously. The button of the currently active interaction is now highlighted in red.

• Segmentation metrics on Record screen for the ultrasound modality

The automatic segmentation function has now been enhanced to calculate and show the extent (e.g. thickness) of the selected anatomic segment. This feature is only available on the ultrasound images.

• Replay cineloops in Record screen

This feature allows the replay of an already recorded cineloop that runs infinitely until it is stopped.

• Updated Segmentation filter for US images

With the help of the automatic segmentation, one can easily visualise the different layers of the skin, starting from the epidermis and ending at the subcutis with a depth up to 12mm. Auto-segmentation also points to the lesion or SLEB and even could mark hair follicles, blood vessels, among others.

• Pdf export supports new modalities

This release enables the download of the image pairs (frames) both in PNG and PDF format.

• Add clinical and dermoscopy modality to record

This new modality allows the upload of external clinical and dermoscopic images directly into the SkinAid software.
